Are You Actually Leading Your Business or Just Working in It?
Want to watch it in video, here you go: How much time are you spending on CEO activities | EP 05
As the CEO of your business, it’s easy to get pulled into the day-to-day whirlwind. Emails, client requests, team issues—they all demand your attention. But here’s the truth:
Your time should be spent on high-level strategy, leading the team, and driving growth, not just getting lost in daily operations.
If your goal is to build a system-driven company and truly be productive, then it starts with one key question:
Where is your time going each day?
The First Step: Audit Your Time
For one week, do a time audit. Track your time across all activities. Write down everything—what tasks you did, how long they took, and how you felt about them.
Then ask yourself:
• How much time did I spend on vision, strategy, and growth?
• How much was consumed by operations, admin, or low-value tasks?
Delegate What Doesn’t Deserve Your Time
Once you’ve identified the tasks that don’t align with your CEO role, stop doing what’s unnecessary and delegate tasks that are below your hourly rate.
Remember, just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should.
Block CEO Time
Protect your time like the business depends on it—because it does.
Block CEO time on your calendar and treat it like an unmissable board meeting. Use this time to think, strategize, and lead.
Because that’s where your greatest value lies.
Action step:
Do your time audit today and let me know what was your biggest insight from this exercise.
